Support for (expectant) parents

"The first time with a baby can be difficult because it presents us all with new challenges: Responding attentively to the needs of this little being, finding enough sleep and food for yourself, and maintaining a life outside your own four walls all at the same time."

Breastfeeding advice

As a breastfeeding and lactation consultant IBCLC, I answer the typical small and large questions about breastfeeding. I can be booked flexibly for you for a home visit, for an e-mail or telephone consultation.

For me, breastfeeding advice means

Feedback from a mom after one hour of breastfeeding advice

I wanted to get back to you briefly. You were with us for an hour at the beginning of September and I was hardly breastfeeding at all at that time (9 days after the birth).

2 days after your visit I was breastfeeding fully (with a cap) and now, 10 weeks later, completely without any aids. It hardly hurts any more. Thank you so much for all your advice and encouragement. A complete success for me :o)

Despite the fact that we sleep really little at night, I'm really pleased that everything is finally working out. I would never have thought that a conversation could bring so much. The investment was definitely the best we could have made for the child and the whole family.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Emotional support

A sympathetic ear and compassionate words in emotionally stressful situations for moms, (expectant) parents and couples. I create the space for an exchange on the topics that are bothering you.

For me, emotional support means:

Feedback from a grandmother after a breastfeeding consultation

"Dear Ms. Giese,

Between the holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your kind and competent breastfeeding advice.

J. is now fully breastfed. After some time of feeding the expressed milk, my daughter was able to stop the bottle completely - from one day to the next. From then on, Jolanda gained weight rapidly.

It is very nice that through your help - what no one dared to hope for - has come true after all.

Also on behalf of my daughter, we wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for you and your work in the coming year.

Cordially M."

Oral restrictions (tongue tie)

Muscular tension and restricted ligaments in the mouth (e.g. the lingual ligament) can make breastfeeding difficult and lead to numerous problems for the breastfeeding mother and child.

As a trained breastfeeding and lactation consultant (IBCL) with numerous further training courses on the subject of oral restrictions, I will support you in researching the causes. I have access to a strong network of experienced doctors and therapists who can professionally carry out and support the separation if necessary.

For me, breastfeeding counseling with a focus on oral restrictions means

Ready for advice?

I will guide you through complex breastfeeding issues, during the initial assessment of oral restrictions or as emotional support for the first weeks and months with baby.
